Catherine Pringle, Junior Squad Rep and part of the Junior Girls Squad at Tyne United Rowing Club; has been awarded two major awards for volunteering at this weekend’s North East Club Development Conference. Catherine has not only been awarded the North East Region Junior Volunteer of the Year for Rowing but also the National Junior Volunteer of the Year award by British Rowing.

This is an outstanding achievement for someone so young and Tyne United Rowing Club is delighted with the recognition she has been given for her contribution to rowing on the Tyne. The majority of the Junior Squad at Tyne United were originally coached by Catherine when they first began to Learn to Row and it’s her enthusiasm for rowing which has led to so many staying in the sport. Catherine has provided leadership and support to the Junior Squad through her own experience of rowing and is a crucial link between the Junior Squad members and the Coaches at the club.

Catherine is a shining example of how we want Junior Rowing to develop; someone willing to train and compete and yet still want to help others develop and achieve their potential.

Tyne United Rowing Club congratulates Catherine on these outstanding awards and we look forward to more for the future.
