Our club Plum Pudding event will be held this Sunday, all entries will be accepted (including development squads) and all rowers will be drawn from a hat to decide crews.
This will be a fun event over a 1000 meter course, from the White House (Ryton, not DC) to the Club steps. Crews will race in fine quads, to add to the fun please bring cakes and nibbles for the cuppa that will follow.

Today Dean Cowens (Bow), Patrick Hall, Richard Chapman, Sarah Furniss and Briony Dawson (cox) of Tyne United set off in support of a local event, unLTD2011 is an event on 17th Nov 2011 which will introduce the concept of working outside of the office four walls.
Richard and Patrick are demonstrating how simple it is to work outside of the office, even in a Swift 4x+!!!
We planned to row into Newcastle where we would be snapped rowing through the bridges up to the Baltic, unfortunately at the half way stage the wind and water turned against us which made the water too dangerous to continue.
Our partners in this event were still really happy with what we achieved, CCS Mobile’s Sales Director Mark Lavender was delighted with the snaps the photographer got and personally thanks everyone who made it possible.
We wish CCS and the unLTD2011 parties all the best for the 17th and we hope we can help out again in the future.
Turc Comms.

The winning foursome plus coach
Following training in the U23 lightweight 4- since early May, Will Fletcher’s boat (with fellow northerners Jamie Kirkwood and John Preston, along with Jonno Clegg from Maidenhead) rose to the challenge of Henley Royal Regatta to win The Visitors Challenge Cup.

The winning four
Racing each day since Thursday, the boys’ greatest challenge came in the semi’s on Saturday, from an Oxford Brookes /Molesey composite, although our boys lead throughout and won by two thirds of a length, creating a new course record for the event of 6.38. This was Jamie’s second consecutive Henley win, Jonno’s third and Will’s fourth. The crew join the rest of the U23 squad for their pre worlds camp this weekend, then travel to Amsterdam in mid July to defend their 2010 gold in the LW4-.

Celebrations!

Group hug!

A happy Will

Rob and Will. Happy lads.
