Last weekend saw a glorious weekend of weather up in Scotland with some fantastic rowing thrown in. After a long winters training, the senior squad descended on their first regatta of the season. Some fantastic racing was shown by all, showing the result of all the hard work put in through the winter.
Arun and James in their OJ182x showed a strong performance in their heat coming 1st and smashing their competition by 3-4 lengths. The lads then went on to take 1st place in the final, claiming gold by 2.5 lengths.
Josh, Arun, Elliot and Andy competed in ORes1 4x- took gold with a win by 1.5 lengths.
Elliot finished in 2nd place in his ORes1 Lwt 1x.
The men's ONovice 4+ showed a strong performance in their heat coming third unfortunately just missing out on progression to the finals.
Jack showed a strong performance in ONovice 1x claiming 2nd place in his heat progressing him to the final, where he finished in 6th place against some tough competition.
With a total of 17 entered in OJ18 1x there was some tough competition. Arun showed grit powering through his heat finishing in 1st place by 2.5 lengths. Arun again then went on to power through in the final only just being pipped in the last 150m for 2nd place. A very strong performance and result shown by a J17. Andy showed a strong performance in his ORes1 1x. He fought off some tough opposition in his heat where he achieved 2nd place to pass through to the final, where he brought home a bronze medal in 3rd place!
After coming 1st in their heat, Andy and Josh progressed to the finals in ORes1 2x, where they smashed it coming 2nd overall.
