Tyne United Rowing Club offers both social and competitive rowing.
Our Squads compete in Heads and Regattas both regionally and nationally, we have thriving, medal winning, Squads that are constantly looking to improve.
We are always seeking new and talented self-employed rowing coaches to join our coaching team. We are very keen to establish a diverse coaching team to undertake coaching services with Tyne United Rowing Club members and Northumbria University.
Minimum requirement is a UKCC Level 2 Coaching in Rowing certificate and recent experience of coaching in a club/junior setting is highly desirable, if you fit the bill then get in touch.
Successful applicants will coach water sessions from a launch and if not already in possession of a RYA recognised powerboat certificate they will be asked to attend a course to fulfil this requirement.
Coaches will be responsible for registering with HMRC for self-employment and declaring all tax contributions.
Valid membership of British Rowing is required for insurance purposes as coaches are responsible for providing their own suitable insurance cover. Coaches will also be responsible for ensuring they hold a valid First Aid certificate and have completed a DBS check.
Prospective candidates should submit a covering letter and curriculum vitae together with the names and contact details of 2 referees (one reference must be rowing related, with the other from the applicant’s current/previous employer or client). References must be provided and will be taken up prior to interview. All candidates invited to interview will be required to undertake a practical assessment.
