Tentative, Measured, Re-starting Rowing within BR guidelines
Message from our Chair, Alex Shiel
I’m pleased to be able to let you know that the Committee have completed the preparation and planning to enable rowing to re-start at TURC. A document will shortly be uploaded that describes the procedures that we have put in place for all members to follow when coming to the Club site and rowing.
The plan is for club rowing sessions to re-start on Thursday am. Squad co-ordinators will send information to squads on how to book a time slot to go for a row in either a private or club single or a club double for members of the same family.
It is obviously very important that everyone carefully reads the document that has been prepared and follows the procedures.
A couple of points to mention in particular are:
you will have a 15 minute time slot to get your boat out and on the water and a similar time slot to come off the water. It is very important that you only arrive at the Club in time for your time slot and get out and on the water within that time.
The same for coming off the water also.
please only use the toilets in the clubhouse in exceptional or urgent circumstances and not as a routine. If you do go into the club house you must clean any surfaces that you touch ( handles, taps, loo seats etc ) using the cleaning materials provided.
The document we have prepared is an initial plan for re-starting rowing and will inevitably need to be added to and changed as we find new points that need to be covered, or British Rowing or Government guidance changes.
We hope that you will enjoy being able get back on the water at last but please make sure you do so in a way that keeps you and your friends at TURC safe at all times.
