A splendid day!
We had our first taste of racing today, after doing a Learn to Row course last year. We were joined by Lindsey had a little more experience and Fiona (aka “The Captain”) who had more again. Fiona provided excellent encouragement and Damien was a splendid cox.
We were the only all ladies crew, so competed in the mixed crews event. No wins (yet) but we worked hard and rowed them close. We certainly benefitted from Allen’s coaching on the way to get a good start.
The sun shone, we had great fun and we are all proud of what we have achieved so quickly in our rowing careers! Roll on the next meet when hopefully we will be able to compete against the fairer sex!
