Tyne United Rowing Club Facilities
We have some great facilities including an indoor rowing tank, over 20 rowing machines, a clubhouse with kitchen and, most importantly, a large fleet of boats!
Clubhouse
Our clubhouse was erected in 2009 and includes a kitchen , a large club room and changing/showing facilities.
Location
We are located on one of the best rivers in the UK, the mighty River Tyne. Our club position allows us to row west up to the very scenic area of Wylam, when the tide is right. Otherwise we head east towards the NewcastleGateshead Quayside – sometimes we go all the way to the Gateshead Millennium Bridge.
Rowing Tank and Gym Facilities
Tyne United installed an indoor rowing tank in 2011. The tank allows our coaches to work on technique , even if the conditions outside don’t permit a water session. As well as the rowing tank we have a great selection of gym equipment including 24 Concept 2 ergo’s, large weight stacks, Olympic free weights, 2 Concept 2 dynamo’s and a great matting area for core sessions.
Boat Fleet
Tyne United has a large fleet of boats which can accommodate our members preferences.
